My Friend Chip

A friend of mine, Walter (Chip) Kayton is gone.  We miss ya man, and will never forget ya.

I know taken me a while to post about this, some things take longer to process.

Derrick and I went on a bar tour after Chip’s memorial party. Good times. I’m glad Derrick was on point that night, I would’ve ended up in jail or lost in Phoenix some where.

    Hi there,
I was a friend of Chip. We went to school together but lost contact over the years. Really sorry to hear that he’s gone. What happened?

I am shocked!!! This is this the same Chip Kayton I graduated with in 1988 from Longwood HS in Middle Island, NY? He was a GREAT gymnast back in the days. He looks TOTALLY different!!! God Bless his family! He was a kind soul..

Just came across this post. I knew Chip from his Saratoga days. He was my neighbor and friend. I’m probably almost old enough to be his mom (lol) but i had many good times and life changing events with him. I still vividly remember conversations with him that can bring me to tears. Conversations about my reasons for ending my marriage and his reasons for leaving Saratoga. Not related topics but a deep connection and understanding. He and I are god parents to another friends son, who is now 16. I really missed Chip when he moved to Phoenix and with all the promises to stay in touch, I didn’t and so wish I had. He was a good soul and I can only hope he’s at peace.

Chip passed during his sleep. It was unexpected.

I didn’t know this message site existed until today. I thought it only right to comment. I knew Chip for about 25 years. There would be times when I didn’t talk with him for days, weeks, or months, but we kept in touch – from his time in the Northeast to his time in the Southwest. I visited him at his family’s home on Long Island and his home in AZ, but I mostly saw him in Upstate NY.

I’m glad that people wanted to say something about Chip here. It keeps his memory alive.

    Regards,
    Robert Moore
